On May 1, MCPS hosted its Apprenticeship Commencement. This year, 39 students participated in the work-based learning program, gaining valuable experience with local employers while still in high school.

Work-based learning in MCPS includes any paid or unpaid employment experience that results in high school credit or completion of a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. This includes apprenticeships, internships, CTE program internships, and site-based work experiences. The program is designed to give students authentic workplace exposure that supports both career and college readiness.
