MCPS & Montgomery College are partnering to offer Grade 11 students an opportunity to begin a Biotech Pre-Apprenticeship. Attached are the presentation materials from the Info Session on Dec. 9 and Biotech Pre-Apprenticeship flyer. Then below are step-by-step directions to prepare your application. Note- Grade 12 students are also eligible to apply and will be considered based on availability of seats. .

 To Prepare for your application:

• Watch Dr. Collins Jones, MC Biotech Program Coordinator, Biotechnology video series: Video 1, Video 2, Video 3
• Confirm you have transportation to and from MC Germantown Campus
• Confirm you meet the MC Dual Enrollment criteria: https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/curriculum/partnerships/dual-enrollment
• Confirm you are available to attend the MC required Course Schedule:
• Spring Semester 2026 from 1/26/26-5/17/26
• Tuesdays from 6-8:40pm (In-person)
• Thursdays from 6-7:40pm (In-person or Hyflex option)
• Summer Session 1 2026 from 5/26/26-7/2/26
• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 6-7:45pm (In-person or Hyflex option)
• Prepare your 1 page essay responses to the follow questions:

1. Why are you interested in Biotechnology?
2. What Biotechnology career do you envision for yourself?

• Create a pdf copy of your high school transcript by printing and saving it in pdf format.
