OTLS creates the conditions necessary for every student to experience academic excellence through the development and implementation of professional learning, comprehensive and coordinated programs and services, and a focus on learning, accountability, and results.
All offices within Teaching, Learning and Schools will anchor and operationalize their work through the lens of the MCPS Strategic Priorities. These priorities are reflected in the OneOTLS focus goals, which will serve to streamline our collective efforts as we align our work collaboratively across Special Education (SE), Student and Family Support and Engagement (SFSE), Curriculum and Instructional Programs (CIP), and School Support and Improvement (SSI).
Foster a Culture of Well-Being and support for all staff and students
Ensure the highest quality front-end curricula and instruction, based on student learning needs, in order to effectively Mitigate Learning Disruption
Develop and implement a systemic Response to Intervention approach to support high impact schools and students
The vision of the Office of Teaching, Learning, and Schools is to provide curated, aligned, and differentiated support to schools designed to facilitate expert teaching, learning, and leadership that enables students, teachers, and leaders to thrive.
What underpins our work is a shared belief in communication, collaboration, and coordination as foundational to stakeholder engagement, investment, and trust. Key to our service delivery mindset is being reflective practitioners, matching our say and do, and end-to-end support to schools.
The Office of Teaching, Learning, and Schools: Unified Support to Schools.
