MCPS-TV's Homework Hotline Live is seeking teachers

Montgomery County Public Schools Television (MCPS-TV) is seeking teachers to join the crew of its flagship TV/Web program Homework Hotline Live (HHL).  For 31 years, HHL has helped tens of thousands of students in kindergarten through 12th grade by offering free homework help from MCPS teachers.

HHL offers one-on-one homework help in most academic subjects.  Teachers take calls and online questions from students live on-the-air and assist them with homework problems.  The program is televised on MCPS-TV and online from mid-September through April on most Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 4:30 – 6:00 PM.

Homework Hotline Live is seeking current or retired MCPS teachers with an energetic personality to join its collegial team.  A strong knowledge of the current secondary math curriculum is a requirement.  Acting skills or television experience is definitely a plus, but not a requirement.  In particular, HHL is seeking teachers to work part-time either as an on-camera or phone room teacher on Thursday afternoons from 4:15 - 6:30 PM.

Interested applicants should send a resume and cover letter to Eric Van Ryzin, Homework Hotline Live Producer, by email to Eric_J_VanRyzin@mcpsmd.org.  For additional information, please call 301-279-3268.
