Middle College

The Montgomery College Middle College (MC2) programs are dual enrollment programs that prepare students to earn a High School Diploma and college credits towards an associates degree.

Core Experiences

  • Strong college preparatory programs to start high school experience
  • Earn associates degree while in high school.

Program Goals

  1. Develop Foundational Knowledge and Skills: Equip students with a strong foundation across all content areas so that they can transition into upper level college courses after graduation.
  2. Provide Hands-On, Real-World Experience: Engage students in authentic projects and team-based challenges that mirror real-world decision-making and responsibility.
  3. Foster College, Career, and/or Community Pathways: Prepare students for postsecondary success by connecting classroom learning to diverse opportunities after high school graduation.

 

Application & Locations

Application: Interest-based application.  Students must maintain a specific grade point average throughout high school to be eligible for college credit courses.

Program Requirements

In addition to MCPS requirements for graduation, all students maintain a minimum of 2.75 and maintain enrollment in AP and Montgomery College courses in grades 10-12.
