MONTGOMERY COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS
The Biomedical Science pathway serves students who are intellectually curious, motivated by scientific inquiry, and eager to understand the human body and real‑world health challenges. Through a multi‑year sequence of rigorous coursework, students engage in hands‑on laboratory investigations, medical case studies, and project‑based learning that reflect authentic biomedical practices. Students build competencies in experimental design, data analysis, anatomy and physiology, public health, and biomedical ethics.
Co‑curricular opportunities extend learning beyond the classroom through participation in science and health organizations, competitive events, and clinical exposure. This pathway prepares students for advanced high school coursework, postsecondary studies in the health sciences, and future careers in medicine, biomedical engineering, nursing, research, and other healthcare fields.
Selection Process: Criteria-based application. Students need to be on track to complete Algebra 1 by the end of grade 8.
