This year, 1,210 employees are eligible for recognition, according to Department of Employee and Retiree Services records. Of these employees, 669 have completed 15 years, 461 have completed 25 years, and 80 have completed 35 years.
The Montgomery County Board of Education has unanimously adopted a $3.165 billion operating budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2024, an increase of $245 million or 8.4 percent over the prior year.

By a unanimous vote during its business meeting on Feb. 23, the Board of Education (BOE) approved a $3.2 billion Operating Budget recommendation for Fiscal Year 2024. The request includes a $296 million increase—10%—over the current budget and $272 million above the minimum amount required by the maintenance of effort law.
