Evans

President: Shebra L. Evans (District 4)

Mrs. Evans was elected to her first four-year term on November 8, 2016. She currently serves as president of the Board of Education and as a member of the Board's Strategic Planning Committee. Mrs. Evans has served in numerous volunteer leadership roles with the Montgomery County Council of PTAs, including Vice President of Educational Issues, Vice President of Programs, Recording Secretary-Delegate Assembly, and Wheaton Cluster Coordinator.

Wolff

Vice President: Brenda Wolff (District 5)

Ms. Wolff was elected to her first four-year term on November 6, 2018.  She currently serves as vice president of the Board of Education and as the chairperson of the Board's  Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Committee.  Ms. Wolff also will serve as the Board’s representative to the Maryland Association of Boards of Education’s Legislative Committee and the Federal Relations Network Committee.

Jeanette E. Dixon (At-Large)

Ms. Dixon was elected to her first four-year term on November 8, 2016. She currently serves as the chairperson of the Board's Fiscal Management Committee and as a member of the Strategic Planning Committee. In 2013, Ms. Dixon retired from Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) after a 30-year career as a teacher (Social Studies) and principal (White Oak Middle School 1997-2001 and Paint Branch High School 2001-2013).

Docca

Judith Docca (District 1)

Dr. Docca was elected to her fourth four-year term on November 6, 2018.  She currently serves as a member of the Board's Policy Management Committee, Fiscal Management Committee, and the Committee on Special Populations.  Dr. Docca spent 38 years as a teacher and administrator with Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS).

Patricia O'Neill

Patricia B. O'Neill (District 3)

Mrs. O'Neill was first elected to the Board of Education in 1998 and was elected to her sixth four-year term on November 6, 2018. She has served as the Board's president five times.  Mrs. O'Neill serves as chairperson of the Board's Policy Management Committee, and as a member of the Fiscal Management Committee.

Karla Silvestre (At-Large)

Ms. Karla Silvestre was elected to her first four-year term on November 6, 2018.  She serves as chairperson of the Board's Strategic Planning Committee, and as a member of the Committee on Special Populations, and also the Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Committee.  In addition, she also will serve as the Board’s representative to the Maryland Association of Boards of Education’s Resolutions Committee.

Rebecca Smondrowski           (District 2)

Mrs. Smondrowski was elected to her second four-year term on November 8, 2016.  She currently serves as the chairperson of the Board's Committee on Special Populations, and as a member of the Policy Management Committee, and also the Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Committee.

Tinbite

Student Member: Nathaniel Tinbite

Mr. Tinbite, a senior at John F. Kennedy High School, is the 42nd student member of the Board of Education. Mr. Tinbite is a member of the Board of Education’s Strategic Planning Committee and the Policy Management Committee. He previously served as the President of Montgomery County Student Government Association.
