Ms. Jeanette E. Dixon was elected to her first four-year term on November 8, 2016. She is the chair of the Board’s Fiscal Management Committee and a member of the Strategic Planning Committee.
In 2013, Ms. Dixon retired from Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) after a 30-year career as a teacher (social studies) and principal (White Oak Middle School 1997-2001 and Paint Branch High School 2001-2013). Ms. Dixon is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Ray A. Kroc Award for Excellence in Teaching (1993), ICB Outstanding Administrator Award (2001), MCPS/NAACP Outstanding Principal Award (2009), Maryland PTA Outstanding Educator Award (2011) and The Washington Post Distinguished Educational Leadership Award (2012). Ms. Dixon also serves on the Maryland Association of Boards of Education's Awards Committee, the Budget and Planning Committee, and the Conference Planning Committee.
Ms. Dixon received a Bachelor’s degree in History from the American University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Loyola College. Her two children graduated from MCPS.
