About the Year in Review

2009 was a year marked by unique challenges. A rapidly worsening economy and the unexpected demands of rapidly rising enrollment required us to confront change. While remaining resolute in our commitment to ensure that all students are prepared to be successful in college and career, we had to oversee a system that continued to try and do more with less. The dedication and passion of all who work in Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), and among my colleagues on the Board, have united our service on behalf of the children of Montgomery County
