Instrumental Music

For the past several years, over half of the students at CCES participated in our instrumental music program!  Instrumental music instruction for almost any band or orchestra instrument (except drums) is offered to students in grades 4 and 5. Classes are taught once a week and are scheduled during school hours.  This hands-on experience teaches students basic theory, notation, and artistic criticism. The main focus is on developing individual and group skills in preparation for a limited number of performances.

Daniella Krohn, Instrumental Music Teacher
I've been teaching in Montgomery County Public Schools since 2012. I am an MCPS graduate and come with experience teaching all grade levels in music. I am a percussionist and perform throughout the D.C. metropolitan area. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Hofstra University in New York and earned a Master’s degree of Music in Music Education from Rutgers University, all online. When I’m not in the classroom or running to rehearsal, I love going to the gym, knitting on the couch, seeing the latest movies in theaters, or cooking a new recipe in the kitchen.
