PTA Read-a-Thon: Looking ahead, we have some fun and exciting events coming up - including an author visit with Kevin O’Malley and the launch of our Candlewood ES Read-a-thon - both happening on Friday, January 16! • WHAT is a Read-a-Thon? A read-a-thon is a reading challenge where students set reading goals, and invite friends/family/sponsors to provide support to encourage students to read. It's a fun way to promote reading, literacy, and community engagement.
• WHEN is our Read-a-Thon?: Our read-a-thon will run January 16 - 30, 2026.
• Read-a-Thon Goals? We’re looking to raise $4K and log over 10,000 reading minutes. Proceeds from the Read-a-Thon will support the school with important resources and activities.
