Attention Parents of 8th Grade Students!

To follow is important information on end of year events you need to know for your 8th grade student(s):

- Friday, May 29th: 8th Grade Dance at BCMS sponsored by the PTA
- Time: 6:30-9:00 PM
- Students must arrive by 7:30 PM
- No Cost for students
- Food, DJ, Photo Booth, Prize winners for best dressed (Grand Prize $100 VISA Gift Card)
- Promotion Tickets Parent/Guardian Pick Up Schedule at BCMS
- Please pick up your tickets (two per student) for promotion from the Main Office
- Pickup Dates: June 1-5 and June 8-11; May 29th during the 8th Grade Dance
- Pickup times: 9:00-10:45 AM & 1:30-2:45 PM in the Main Office
- Friday, June 12th: Hershey Park
- Students will receive their T-shirts during the week of the fieldtrip
- Hershey is a cashless park therefore students should have an electronic payment option with them for purchases.
- The amusement and water park will be available for students.
- We will return promptly at 7:00 PM to BCMS
- Monday, June 15th: Promotion Ceremony at Springbrook High School
- Students must arrive by 5:00 PM
- Formal attire is required
- The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00 PM
- Balloons, signs, and/or noise making devices, etc. are prohibited.

Student Service Learning Information and Updates
Student Service Learning Activity Verification forms should be submitted to Ms. Rosa Mendoza, SSL Coordinator.
Reminder — ALL SSL forms are due by Friday, May 29, 2026! All completed forms should be submitted before or by the deadline.
Looking for something fun and meaningful to do this summer? Summer is the perfect time to earn SSL hours through awesome volunteer opportunities!
SSL Opportunities with 2026 ELO Summer Programs
- The Division of Title 1 is excited to announce the return of student volunteers for the 2026 ELO Summer Programs.
- The program runs from July 7 to July 30, Monday through Thursday, for 5.5 hours per day.
- Student volunteers are welcome to utilize MCPS bus transportation provided to program participants within each school’s normal catchment area, and volunteers will be provided breakfast and lunch daily, free of charge.
- The window to register as a volunteer closes on June 5th. Registration is on a first come, first served basis.
- Student volunteers can only register for one location and must be available for at least 12 of the 15 days of the program.
