The County Executive wants to delay our new school construction by a year in the upcoming capital budget! Your help is needed to help keep Wheaton's new building construction on track! Parents and students are urged to send an email or attend the Capital Budget and FY13-18 Capital Improvements Program Meeting on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 7 pm at 100 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, MD. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be completed in order to be considered for most forms of financial aid for college; including grants, scholarships, and loans. The Annual Historically Black College/University (HBCU) Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, February 15 at Blair High School from 6pm-8pm. Students in grades 9-12 and their families are invited to come learn more about HBCU's. Several schools will be hosting on-the-spot admissions events for current 12th grade students. The course registration process for school year 2012-2013 will run from February 2- 24 at Wheaton High School. Course descriptions can be found using the online High School Course Bulletin. Not all courses referenced in the course bulletin are offered at Wheaton High School. Please contact your student's Counselor with questions. The local ACT-SO competition will provide students, in grades 9-12, the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities in 26 various competition categories: sciences, humanities, performing arts, visual arts and business. ACT-SO is sponsored by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), which is the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization.
