Yearly Class Donation
Dear Wootton Patriot Families,
As we kick off a new school year, we’re introducing a meaningful update to how we support our students through fundraising - one rooted in simplicity, equity, and spirit. Most importantly, this new approach honors what matters most: your time, your investment, and your belief in our students. It gives us a chance to plan ahead, save early, and make high school more affordable and meaningful for every Patriot.
Instead of hosting multiple restaurant nights, bake sales, and other time-consuming fundraisers for grade-specific needs throughout the year, we’re inviting each Patriot family to make a one-time, yearly fundraising donation that will support your student’s class activities all year long. This new approach helps us simplify, save time, and build stronger participation across our school.
Our hope is that with enough participation, we can raise the necessary funds through this method and move away from relying on restaurant nights altogether. However, if we don’t reach our goals, we may need to revisit those traditional fundraisers to fill the gap.
Here are the suggested donations by grade, now available on your School Cash Online account:
- Freshmen: $10
- Sophomores: $15
- Juniors: $20
- Seniors: $25
These amounts are far less than what families often spend over the year on small fundraisers combined, and they allow us to start strong - planning events with confidence and ensuring affordability for all students. By keeping the amounts low and clear, we’re hoping to create a more equitable and inclusive way for all families to contribute.
The funds raised will go directly toward reducing the cost of milestone events like prom, senior picnic, and class celebrations, while also fueling SGA-sponsored activities, giveaways, and spirit events that bring joy and connection to all students throughout the year.
Let’s come together as a community and take care of this now so we can focus on what matters most: giving our students the best high school experience possible. Show your Patriot pride and make your donation today! Class donations are due by Friday, September 12th. You can access that payment link by going to mcpsmd.schoolcashonline.com and logging in or registering if it is your first time. Together, let’s make this year unforgettable.
With gratitude,
Mr. Keith Schwartz, Sponsor
