Graduation Information

On graduation day Thursday, June 3rd, all graduates must arrive by 8 am. They should bring with them caps, gowns, stoles, tassels, cords and the index card with their name and number on it. They must not bring anything else with them. Please ensure that they have soft soled shoes on for the event as they will be processing on the track.

Parking will be extremely limited on the day. We have 75 slots at Rockshire and shuttle buses will provide transportation to and from the stadium. I urge you as much as possible to carpool, uber or walk to the stadium. Please aim to arrive before 8:30 am. At 8:45 am you will be unable to enter the stadium until all the graduates have processed in. As a reminder, you must present your ticket to enter the stadium.

Seating in the stadium is available on both sides of the track. The view from the home side and the visitor side affords an equal view of the graduates and the stage. Balloons are not permitted in the stadium so we can ensure all parents and guests have an unobstructed view of the graduates and the stage. In order to ensure that every student’s name is heard when called, please refrain from clapping until the very end of the event. For this same reason we ask that you do not bring noise makers with you. At the end of the ceremony we can celebrate all our graduates together!

For those students who are participating virtually the ceremony will be live streamed. Your student will be recognized in the ceremony. The link to the live stream will be sent out before the day. MCPS will be recording the event so that you can watch a replay of it the following day on Comcast 34, Verizon 36, RCN 89.
