Congratulations to Ms. Simon’s first period class for collecting the most used batteries for the French National Honor Society’s battery drive! Ms. Simon’s class has won a Nutella party hosted by FHS for their contribution to the environment. FHS would like to thank the Wootton community for contributing hundreds of batteries to our cause these past few weeks.
If anyone is interested in participating in TNL, please attend the information meeting on Wednesday, December 20th during lunch in the lecture hall room 183.
The Minority Scholars Program is hosting a Coat Drive! Bring your used winter coats, jackets, scarves, gloves, hats, and sleeping bags to room 248 or room 231 during lunch between Monday, 12/18 through Thursday, 1/4! All donations will be given to Thrive DC, a local organization dedicated to helping the District’s homeless population.
Have you ever wanted to do a sport but haven’t found the right one for you? Well, you should join Wootton’s new Spring sport MBC rowing. Rowing is the best full body workout. It’s also an amazing coed sport for college. We’ve send previous rowers to top universities such as Dartmouth and Georgetown. Attention all students and staff: TODAY is the last day to sign up for the Blood Drive on Tuesday, December 19th. You can sign up during lunch and after school in room 180 or with any Red Cross Club member. The last day to sign up to save lives is Monday, December 18th so don’t wait!
Are you interested in doing an internship next year or taking a class thorough Dual Enrollment? Be sure to come to the Internship & Dual Enrollment Information Meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 19th at lunch in the auditorium. Attention Seniors: If you purchased a panoramic class photo, please stop by room 41 during lunch or after school to pick it up. You must show an ID in order to pick up your yearbook.
Attention Wootton students who are 16 or older: the MCPS Board of Elections’s Student Empowerment Campaign is coming to register students to vote and to register students as election judges who an earn money or SSL hours. The process is quick, simple, and free! So, come to the cafeteria during lunch on Monday, December 18th; Tuesday, December 19th; or Wednesda,y December 20th. Make sure to bring your driver’s license or other form of official ID. A student ID will not be accepted. If you have any questions, feel free to ask any SGA member or Mrs. Cresham in room 153.
