We at Silver Creek Middle School would like to encourage students to explore mathematics in a global context in order to assist them in their journey to becoming enduring mathematicians and thinkers. Research states that daily at home engagement in math concepts, high expectations, and guardian involvement (including discussing mathematics) help promote lifelong independent thinkers.
This summer, we highly recommend all students also consider completing one of the optional support math resources that have been provided. All of the tools linked below will help you begin to enhance your learning from this past school year. Each program works a little differently but all of them will help you review material in preparation for your math course in the fall. Make sure you look at the links associated with your incoming math fall course. This will help you retain some of the learning that occurred throughout the last school year. For returning SCMS students, you have access to your IXL accounts over the summer and an additional option is to work on your MAP recommended skills for at least 30 minutes each week.
If you would prefer a paper copy of the packet linked below, the main office will have them available during the summer.
