RecXtra Physical Computing Club: There will be NO Physical Computing Club this Thursday, March 12. Students in the Physical Computing Club should plan on going home right after school on Thursday.

Beauty & the Beast Production: Come see our school's drama programs production of 'Beauty and the Beast' this weekend! Shows are this Friday at 7pm and Saturday at 2pm and 7pm! Tickets are $9 for adults and $7 for students! Come out and support your friends!

Girls Fit for Life: Attention all ladies! Girls Fit For Life will begin meeting next Tuesday, March 17th. Come out for some fun, fitness, nutrition tips, conditioning & confidence building on Tuesdays & Wednesdays for girls only! You need an intramural permission slip to stay. See Ms. Tip for one today!

Flag Football Intramurals: Flag Football intramurals will begin next Tuesday, March 17th and will meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays until April 2nd. Flag Football is open to all 6th, 7th, & 8th graders who are academically eligible and have turned in an intramural permission slip to Ms. Brouillard. Pick up a slip today to stay!

Pennies for Patients: Pennies for Patients is going strong. The goal is to raise $1,500 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. That's $1.50 per student. All monies can be turned in to Mr. Conley in Room 167. There are prizes for online contributions.

GSA: GSA will meet TODAY during your grade level's lunch period in Mrs. Maisch's room - 360. GSA is a club for students who identify LGBT AND for students who want to support their LGBT peers. Get a lunch pass from Mrs. Maisch or from the cafeteria.

Soccer Tryouts: Attention any 7th and 8th grade boy trying out for soccer this week.  Please be prepared to participate inside or outside.  Bring cleats, flats and sneakers.  Any boy who makes the team should have both cleats and flats ready for each practice.

RecXtra Cooking Club: The last cooking club for session 2 will be this Wednesday, March 11.  Students interested in joining session 3 which starts on March 18 should see Mr. Smith in Room 143 for a registration form.

RecXtra Project Lit Club: What if....you could read books that you connected with? What if...you could see yourself in the books that you read? Join the Project Lit Club in reading diverse and culturally relevant books that will spark your love of reading! This club will meet 6 times after school to not only discuss popular diverse literature, but to create "works of art" highlighting these book selections to the community.  Our last meeting will include a trivia competition against CHS Project Lit Club members. Our first meeting will be on Wednesday, March 18th.  Interested? Then grab a permission slip from the media center! Hope to see you there!

RecXtra RPG Club: The RecXtra RPG Club is meeting tomorrow after school in the media center. See you there!

MCPS Solo Festival: Congratulations to musicians Anna Bonapace, Micah Felman, Alexandria Kijewski, Dahmin Lee, and Aabha Tarun for competing in the MCPS Solo Festival. They prepared solos with piano and performed for expert judges. Special congratulations to Anna, Dahmin and Aabha, who received a Superior rating and qualified to go to State competition!

MCPS Ensemble Festival: Congratulations to musicians Anna Bonapace, Emma Finn, Angela Johnson, Morgan Quarles, Mackenzie Smith, Julia Tisaranni, and Vy-Anh Vuong, for competing in the MCPS Ensemble Festival. They performed duets and trios for expert judges, receiving a Superior rating and qualifying to go to the State competition in May! Great job!

NJHS: There is an NJHS meeting today after school-All NJHS members are expected to attend.

MC Super Smash Bros: Attention all your Super Smash Bros Melee players! We are meeting during lunches TODAY to practice your Super Smash Bros skills!

It's due to Ms. Brouillard NO LATER than Monday, March 9th! 8th graders will tryout on Tuesday & Thursday; 7th graders will tryout on Wednesday & Thursday. Book Fair News: Are you ready to get lost in the jungle with some amazing books and have fun playing games? Save the date!!! Our “It’s A Jungle Out There” Spring Book Fair is coming to the Media Center from March 16 - March 20, watch out for the posters around the school for fair opening hours. Hope to see you there, Wildcats!!!

Book Fair Volunteering: It’s that time of year!!! The 2020 Scholastic Spring Book Fair is coming soon (March 16-20, set-up and teachers’ book preview will be on March 13). The theme for our spring fair is “It’s A Jungle Out There” Come visit the jungle in the Media Center, get lost with amazing books in there and stock up for spring break. We will also have fun games for the kids.

We need your help to run the Book Fair again, so please consider volunteering. All we ask for is a little bit of your time and as a thank you, each volunteer will receive $5.00 in Scholastic Dollars that can be used to buy books during our fair (PLEASE NOTE: limit of one $5.00 certificate per volunteer & Scholastic Dollars CANNOT be used for online purchases.)
