Our Resource Counselor, Mrs. Gupta, and the grade level Team Leaders, Mrs. Quinn (6th), Mrs. Fong (7th), and Mrs. Wilkerson (8th) shared specific strategies for student success. In addition to their presentation, a panel of 7th & 8th grade students and their parents shared their successes and challenges of being a Rocky Hill Middle School student. Wellness Week is quickly approaching at Rocky Hill. During the week of October 21st through the 25th, Rocky Hill will literally “Grow Stronger Together” as our community theme says! Students will turn in “exercise minutes for miles” at lunch as we try to race to Hawaii in 5 days. Throughout September and October, in Physical Education and Health classes, students have been working on individual Wellness and Fitness plans that can be put into practice. Our culminating event will be the RHMS Color Fun Run. Click for more details!

A healthy media diet balances three things: what kids do, how much time they spend doing it, and whether their content choices are age-appropriate. Mixing media and tech time with other activities will help families find that happy medium. Use the Family Media Agreement and Device Contract to set realistic rules that make sense for your family so you and your kids can make the most out of media and tech time. Click for access to the Family Media Agreement and Device Contract.
This year RHMS students in the Arts and Music classes participated in Pinwheels for Peace. Pinwheels for Peace is a collaborative art installation in which schools all over the world participate. To honor World Peace Day (September 21st), students created individual pinwheels full of designs and messages to promote peace. Click for more info.
