National Honor Society Programs & Activities

The National Honor Society at Poolesville High School is offering free tutoring to all students! Whether you need help preparing for a test, understanding a tricky concept, or improving your study skills, our NHS tutors are ready to help.

📚 Subjects: All core classes and many electives
🕒 When: During lunch and after school 
📍 Where: In the media center or Hubs

Candidate Application

If you are currently a sophomore or a junior, and you have a 3.6 unweighted cumulative GPA and/or a 4.2 weighted cumulative GPA, have a minimum of 60 doucmented SSL hours, and you are a hard-working, dedicated, honest student who is service-oriented and has strong leadership skills, then you may be a candidate for the National Honor Society (NHS). 

The Poolesville Chapter of the National Honor Society will open up applications for the 2026-2027 school year in early May.  On the application, you will be asked about your GPA / WGPA, your SSL hours, your leadership experience, your service to the community and why you want to be considered for membership. You will also submit the names of three (3) teachers who you will ask for recommendations. Teachers will be provided with ane online form to recommend you. 

NHS decisions will be made at the beginning of September in 2026, and students will be notified.  The induction of new members will take place at the end of September (date to be decided and announced).
