Mr. Dave Dove

Mr. David Dove brings more than 30 years of experience in education, instructional leadership, and school administration to his role as Assistant Principal. His educational journey includes a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from North Carolina Central University, a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola College, graduate studies in Supervision from Monmouth College, and Administration and Supervision certification from Hood College. He holds Maryland Advanced Professional Certification in Elementary Education and Administrative certifications in School Leadership.
 
Throughout his career, Mr. Dove has served students, families, and school communities as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and district leader across Montgomery County Public Schools, Prince George’s County Public Schools, and Baltimore City Public Schools. His experiences range from classroom instruction in elementary and middle school mathematics to leading schools and supporting district-wide initiatives focused on student success.
 
Mr. Dove is passionate about creating safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments where every child feels valued and challenged to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. He believes strong partnerships between families and schools are essential and has facilitated numerous parent workshops focused on academic achievement, assessment understanding, and strategies to support learning at home.
 
His leadership emphasizes restorative practices, positive school climate, equity, student wellness, and ensuring all students have access to high-quality educational opportunities. Mr. Dove is committed to working collaboratively with families, staff, and the community to support student success and build strong relationships rooted in trust and communication.
 
Outside of school, Mr. Dove values family deeply. His wife has served as a Professional School Counselor in Montgomery County Public Schools for more than 25 years. Together, they have two children: a daughter who is entering her senior year at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, and a son who will begin his freshman year at Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania, where he will be a member of the men’s soccer team. Mr. Dove enjoys supporting his children’s academic and extracurricular pursuits and understands the important role families play in student success.
