Summer Letter From Our Principal
NCC Summer Letter From Our Principal- July 30, 2026
Dear North Chevy Chase Elementary School Families,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at North Chevy Chase Elementary School! I am excited to welcome our new and returning Bulldog families.
As we begin my third year as principal at NCC, I continue to feel grateful to be part of such an amazing school community. Our commitment remains focused on creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every student can learn, grow, and thrive. We look forward to partnering with our families to make this a year filled with learning, growth, and meaningful experiences for every child.
Our annual Open House will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Class assignments will be available in ParentVUE beginning on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. If you need assistance accessing your ParentVUE account, please contact Ms. Christina Haynes at 240-204-5280.
I am excited for you to meet our new staff members:
Mrs. Christine Cassagnau, Art Teacher
We are delighted to welcome Christine Cassagnau as our new Art Teacher! Christine has been teaching since 2001 in both public and private schools as a classroom teacher and art teacher. After returning to Maryland in 2018, she joined Montgomery County Public Schools as an elementary art teacher.
When she's not at school, Christine enjoys traveling, reading, gardening, visiting museums, and creating art and other handmade projects. We know our students will benefit from her creativity and passion for the arts!
Ms. Adryanna Brown, Paraeducator
We are excited to welcome Adryanna Brown to our team as a Paraeducator! Adryanna joins us from Rosemary Hills Elementary School, where she served as a paraeducator. She has also been a familiar face at NCC through our KAH program, so many of our students and staff already know her. We are thrilled to officially welcome Adryanna to the Bulldog family and know she will be a wonderful addition to our team.
Ms. Rachel Maizel, Third Grade Teacher
Rachel Maizel joins NCC with nearly 20 years of teaching experience in MCPS, most recently at College Gardens Elementary School, where she served as both a classroom teacher and team leader. She is dedicated to creating engaging learning experiences and building meaningful relationships with students and families.
In her free time, Rachel enjoys walking her dog, Rocky, and spending time with her nieces and nephew. We are excited to have Rachel join our third grade team!
Mrs. Sherie Hiban, Third Grade Teacher
We are also excited to welcome Sherie Hiban to our third grade team! Sherie brings more than 10 years of teaching experience, including kindergarten and second grade in MCPS. She is committed to helping every child grow while fostering a warm and supportive classroom community.
Outside of school, Sherie loves spending time with her two daughters, a 4-month-old and a 4-year-old, and making special memories with her family. We are thrilled to have her as part of the NCC Bulldog family!
