Post High School: Planning for Accommodations in College

This webinar will be on the topic of planning for post-secondary accommodations for your student with disabilities. Selene Almazan is an attorney who has represented families for over 35 years. Selene is a former Supervising Attorney for the Legal Aid Bureau of Maryland where she represented children in the foster care system, including representation in special education matters. Selene has represented parents in special education matters with a primary focus on least restrictive environment (LRE) issues at the Maryland Coalition for Inclusive Education.
Selene is the Legal Director for the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates, where she writes appellate amicus briefs for appellate courts as well as the Supreme Court. In her private practice, represents families at IEP team meetings, state complaint proceedings, mediations, due process hearings, suspension/expulsion proceedings and federal court proceedings, including matters involving violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

National Hispanic College Fair
October 13, 10:30-1:00
The 2023 National Hispanic College Fair will be October 13th from 10:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park in Gaithersburg. Students will have the opportunity to connect with colleges and universities. Magruder students will be able to attend the fair in person with school staff transported by MCPS school buses. This event is FREE, but permission slips will be required for attendance.
