WELCOME TO LOIEDERMAN MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETICS

Loiederman Athletics provides students with opportunities to compete, build character, and represent our school with pride. We are committed to fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and excellence both on and off the field.

Registration opens August 10 at 12:00 p.m. for all students in grades 6, 7, and 8 through ParentVUE; a current MCPS SR-8 physical is required to participate.

 

SPORTS OFFERED

REGISTRATION & PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

All student athletes must complete the following before participating in tryouts, practices, or games:

  • Eligibility: Athletics is open to all students in grades 6, 7, and 8 who meet MCPS academic eligibility requirements.
  • Register Online: Complete athletic registration through the ParentVUE Portal, available in English and Spanish.
  • Registration Video: Watch the MCPS Athletics Registration Process video for step by step guidance.
  • Physical Examination: Submit a completed MCPS Form SR-8  through ParentVUE or to the Athletic Coordinator before tryouts or practices.
  • Physical Validity: The SR-8 physical is valid for two years and covers participation in all middle school sports during that time.
  • Practice & Competition: Students who have not completed registration and submitted a valid physical may not participate in tryouts, practices, or games.
  • Schedules: Team schedules are posted on the Athletics website. Students may attend home contests at their local middle school and may attend away contests only when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE

CURRENT SEASON SCHEDULE

Most teams practice Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays after school. Practice days and times may vary by sport and season. Coaches will provide athletes with detailed practice schedules at the beginning of the season and notify families of any schedule changes.

 

Transportation: Activity buses are available after practices. MCPS provides transportation to and from away contests. Students are transported back to LMS following away games. Parents/guardians are responsible for picking up students from Loiederman after the team returns.
