Summer Assignments
As we end this school year, we are also looking forward to next year. Many courses require summer assignments in order to be best prepared for the 2026-2027 school year. Click here to find the assignments provided for those courses.

College Essay & SAT Prep Opportunity
MCPS has added a great opportunity for students to prepare for college application season. This summer, students can earn .5 elective credit while building confidence as they get ready for the next chapter of their academic career. Students will be able to master test taking strategies, improve SAT/ACT readiness, strengthen academic skills, develop a successful college essay, build confidence, and reduce test anxiety. Interested students should see their counselor for information on registration and fees.

Summer School Registration is Open
Summer school registration for high school opens on Monday, March 9. For information about registration, students should see their school counselor.
Changes are coming to this year’s programs. MCPS will implement a four-day week — 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
The high school program will run from July 7–21 and July 23–Aug. 6. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, transportation is available, and tuition is $364.25 for students taking courses for original credit or grade improvement. Reduced fees are available for eligible students.
