DHS Summer Office Hours and Availability
Beginning June 29, Damascus High School will be open for in-person support Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The school will be closed for in-person meetings on Fridays throughout the summer. Administrators and counselors will be on site Monday through Thursday during summer hours to assist with registration, scheduling, transcripts, and other student needs. Counselors will also have their specific availability noted in their away messages. As always, to ensure availability, we encourage families to make appointments in advance.
DHS Summer Tours for Incoming Students & Families
Damascus High School will be offering summer tours for students transitioning to DHS, including incoming 9th graders and students new to our school community. Students, parents/guardians, and family members are welcome to attend. Tours will provide an opportunity to become familiar with the building, locate important areas, and help students feel prepared and comfortable for the upcoming school year. No sign-up is required. Please check in at the Welcome Center upon arrival.

AP Course Summer 2026 Enrichment Information
Students taking AP courses next year: While not all AP courses have summer work, some may offer optional Summer Packets to help students prepare. These packets are not required and will not be graded. Please review this document for AP course information and available summer enrichment materials.
NestFest
Please join us on Wednesday, 08/19 from 3:30 - 5:30 for our first ever cluster NestFest! Join us as we are "SWARMIN' to SUCCESS" for the 2026-2027 school year. Parking will fill up quickly at DHS and additional parking will be either at Baker MS or the Damascus Rec Center. There will be shuttles back and forth between 3 PM - 6 PM from those locations. Please see our flyer here for more information, including a list of our cluster schools that will be participating.
Back to School Night
On Thursday, 8/20, you are invited to our DHS Back-to-School Night from 6:00–8:00 PM. During this event, we will start with a brief presentation in our Auditorium followed by the opportunity to go to each period of our school day to meet our teachers. Additional resources and information tables will be available for families as well.
Transition Day
On Monday, 8/24, MCPS will have our second annual Transition Day. This day is for 9th grade students and students new to DHS only. Students will have the opportunity to meet with teachers, learn and acclimate to our building, and get to know one another.
First Day of School
On Tuesday, 8/25, we will have our first day of school for all of our DHS students. It is going to be a great year, Hornets!
Homecoming Week
Who's got spirit? Definitely DHS Hornets! Our Homecoming Week will be from October 12 through October 16. Our Homecoming Dance will take place on October 17 at DHS.
