Clarksburg High School Students, Staff, and Families,
It's another 4 day week ahead with Friday being a Professional Day and no school for students. Students will vote for the next Student Member of the Board this week and can sign up to be Poll Workers for upcoming elections. The CHS Festival of the Arts will be held this Thursday. The Junior/Senior Prom tickets will go on sale next week but Out of School Guest Forms are due this week. Please see the rest of the important information in this newsletter. The CHS Festival of the Arts is this Thursday, April 20, from 6-8 pm in the CHS Auxiliary Gym. Come see all of the amazing artwork made by our own Clarksburg students.
The Empty Bowls Fundraiser is being hosted by the NAHS and the Art Club on Thursday, April 20, from 5:30-7:30. A $10 donation will get you a handmade bowl and a spaghetti dinner provided by Wegmans. Then go over to the art show across the hall for a light dessert and some amazing work.

Please join us for the Junior Parent Information Night on Tuesday, April 25 at 7pm in the Auditorium. During the presentation we will be talking about Senior year requirements, post-secondary planning, reviewing an overview of the college application process and more.
Additionally Join Power Hour Editing’s Amy Smith on Tuesday April 25th @ 6 pm in the auditorium for a jam-packed presentation - “How to Find and Communicate your WOW Factor in your College Essays and Application.” Where will you encounter writing on your application, and how can you stand out? How has the pandemic affected college writing requirements? Amy, a journalist, publicist, and college essay coach, owns Power Hour Editing and helps college-bound students jumpstart their process, stand out, amplify their unique voices, and power to the finish line. She’ll share her “Top Do’s and Don’ts” for college essays based on years of experience identifying trends and roadblocks many students face in the writing sections of their applications. And she’ll share excerpts from “rockstar essays” to demonstrate how to be authentic, creative, and communicate WOW in YOUR writing! Amy will identify steps you can take NOW to avoid the summer/fall crunch. (Perfect for Juniors - Also appropriate for 9 th & 10 th grade students interested in understanding the writing process). The annual MCPS and National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC) Junior College Fair is on Wednesday, April 19th, at 10:00 am. Over 300 colleges will be in attendance for students to connect with CHS Juniors will have an hour to browse the fair, talk to college representatives, and collect resources. Earth Day and Week is when people around the world hold events to honor our home planet -- and to remind everyone about the importance of our ecosystem. Check out what CHS plans to do for Earth Week with our Spirit Week themes! (sponsored by our CHS Environmental Awareness Club)
