End of Marking Period 1

This school year, MCPS has made updates to grading and reporting practices to promote consistency and clarity across schools. Key changes include a greater emphasis on timely feedback, academic integrity, and student responsibility in meeting deadlines. These updates are designed to ensure grades accurately reflect student learning and achievement.

As we approach the end of Marking Period 1 on October 31, we encourage all students and caregivers to check grades and attendance to class. This is a great time to reflect on progress and set goals for the second marking period.

If you have any questions about your student’s progress, please reach out to the teacher directly. For additional support, contact your school counselor or assistant principal.

Know Your Rights Session

In partnership with the Wellness Center, we will be hosting a virtual Know Your Rights session via Google Meet on Monday, October 27, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.

The session will be led by Jess Cruz, and will include a brief 5–10 minute presentation from our Kennedy Students F.A.I.R. Group. This session is open to all students and parents.
