Wounded Warrior vs. Wood MS Basketball Game Join us as Earle B. Wood Middle School hosts its first ever Wounded Warrior vs. Staff/Celebrity Wheelchair Basketball Game. Staff members from Wood will team up with local celebrities to take on our wounded vets in a game of wheelchair basketball. This is sure to be an exciting game! This event is scheduled for May 17th at 7:00 pm at Rockville High School. Doors will open at 6:30 pm. The price of admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children. (Children under 5 are admitted free of charge.) For $20 a limited amount of prime seating, located directly behind the celebrity/staff bench and the Wounded Warrior benches, will be sold. These seats will also be on the first row of the bleachers. For $10,  you will have access to seats on the second row. Our NJHS will also be there collecting donations for their service project. We hope you will come out for an evening of fun and to support our school and our players!
RAND Study A letter was sent home regarding our participation in the RAND study to identify the beneficial impacts of positive behavioral interventions and supports and restorative justice on student discipline outcomes and school climate. If you did not receive it, here is a copy in English and Spanish. In addition, here  are the permission slips (English, Spanish) which were also distributed.
MS Career Readiness Summer Camps Students who are currently in Grades 5, 6, and 7 are invited to apply to the Middle School Career Readiness Summer Camps for 2019. A brochure with more information is here in English and here in Spanish. A list of camp sessions can be found here.
 Regional Community Meetings A number of meetings will be held in April 2019 to gather community input regarding the scope of work for consultants tasked with boundary analysis. For more information, click here. One of the meetings is scheduled for Thursday, April 11, 2019, at Wood.
 Survey If you are the parent or guardian of a child receiving special education services in Maryland, please remember to complete the Maryland Special Education Parent Involvement Survey that was mailed to your home. If you prefer, you may choose to complete the survey online here. Surveys must be completed by May 17, 2019. Your input is appreciated!
 Pedestrian, Bicycle, and Traffic Safety Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) places the physical, social, and psychological well-being of our students as a priority. Following the recent pedestrian incidents across Montgomery County, MCPS is increasing the focus on student pedestrian safety, which is related to physical activity.  Yearbooks! Yearbooks are now on sale! Order yours now for only $30, and enjoy all of this year's memories. Pricing will go up on March 1 to $35. The yearbook committee is also gathering pictures of all of this year's events.  George B. Thomas Learning Academy

The George B. Thomas, Sr. Learning Academy works in partnership with Montgomery County Public Schools to address the academic needs of students by providing them with support on Saturdays.  School Progress Report

The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) has posted the results of the 2017 Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC), and the High School Assessments on the Maryland Report Card (www.mdreportcard.org) website. Click here to view Earle B. Wood's 2017 School Progress Report located under the "Reports" tab. The report provides state, county, and individual school performance data, as well as information on student attendance, high school graduation rates, and the professional qualifications of teachers at the state, district, and school levels for the 2016-2017 school year.

 MD Good Samaritan Law
