Meet the Administration
Linda M. Jones, Principal

I am truly honored to serve as the principal of Stonegate Elementary School in Silver Spring, Maryland. Since joining the Stonegate family in July 2014, I have experienced firsthand the incredible sense of community where students always come first, and staff believe deeply that all students can achieve at high levels. Over the past 11 years as principal, I have worked hard to continue our tradition of dedication, collaboration, and service, and I remain inspired every day by the commitment of our students, staff, and families.
Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Morgan State University, a Master’s in Reading from Towson University, and a certificate in Administration and Supervision from McDaniel College. I have proudly served in education for 30 years beginning as a classroom teacher and reading coach in Baltimore City and Howard County, before joining Montgomery County Public Schools, where I have served as a reading specialist, assistant principal, principal intern, and now principal.
Outside of school, one of my greatest joys is being a mother to my daughter, Ava Rose, whom I love with all my heart. I enjoy cheering her on at her gymnastics meets, traveling, going to the movies, snow tubing, shopping, spending time with family and friends, and treating myself to a smoothie from Smoothie King. I am also a big basketball fan and love cheering for both the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors.
As principal of Stonegate, my mission is to ensure the success of every student while fostering strong, trusting relationships with students, staff, families, and the community. I continue to be inspired by my students and all that they will contribute to the world.
I am proud to be a Stonegate Shark and grateful every day for the opportunity to lead this amazing school community.

Joi Hollis, Principal Intern

I am excited to serve as Stonegate Elementary School’s Principal Intern for the 25-26 school year. I’m bringing with me a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and student achievement. I most recently served as the Assistant Principal at Takoma Park Elementary School for the past four years. My journey in education began with Teach for America, and my leadership path was shaped by my work with New Leaders for New Schools. In addition to my time in Montgomery County, I have also made an impact in the District of Columbia Public Schools and Prince George’s County Public Schools, serving as both a teacher and school leader over a combined 23 years.
As a student who matriculated through MCPS, go Barons, it has been wonderful to return to the school system that made learning fun for me. As a school leader, I am passionate about enhancing school culture through a strong focus on diversity, relationships, and collaboration. I am an enthusiastic and relentless educator, and I am thrilled to bring my leadership, heart, and dedication to the Stonegate community.
Outside of school, I am a proud wife to Doug and mother to Noah (13) and Savannah (8). They keep me grounded and my heart full. I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. I look forward to connecting with you and making it an awesome year!
