Meet the Administration

Ms. Linda M. Jones, Principal

joneslI am truly honored to be the principal of Stonegate Elementary School. I joined the Stonegate family in July 2014 and know firsthand that this is a school community where students come first and the staff believe all students can achieve at high levels. I appreciate the opportunity to work with amazing students, staff, and a supportive school community. I look forward to continuing the tradition of dedication and collaboration at Stonegate Elementary.

While my parents like to tell the story of how I was almost born in Germany, I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. I have an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Morgan State University, a Masters of Education in Reading from Towson University, and a certificate in Administration and Supervision from McDaniel College. I am entering my 20th year in education serving students and communities. I spent ten years in the Howard County Public School System as classroom teacher and team leader and two years in Baltimore City serving as classroom teacher and as a reading coach. I am currently entering my 8th year in the Montgomery County Public School System, where I have served previously as a reading specialist, assistant principal, and principal Intern. I live in Columbia, Maryland with my husband and my daughter, Ava Rose. I enjoy shopping, going to the movies, snow tubing, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and most of all being with my daughter. I also love smoothies from Smoothie King. I am a huge basketball fan and my favorite team is the Los Angeles Lakers

As the principal of Stonegate, my professional mission is to ensure the success of all students. I will continue to work to foster trust and positive relationships with students, staff, families, and the entire school community. As someone who is learning and growing professionally daily, I look forward to the new challenges that this experience will bring. I am thrilled to be a Shark and I am riding the waves!!!
