Center Programs Information

The Quince Orchard Center Programs provide students in the Center North Region an opportunity to pursue a career pathway or special precollege area of interest. These programs will available for students who are entering 9th grade in or after the 2027-2028 school year.

The Quince Orchard’s Center Lead Teacher, Ms. Dillon Grenham, manages this program to provide teachers and students the resources and support necessary for success.

Center Programs Themes at Quince Orchard

Quince Orchard offers two themes for students in the Central North Region: 

  • The Center for Medical Exploration and Discovery
  • The Center for Aesthetics, Repertoire, Technique and Self-Expression (A.R.T.S.). 

Within each theme, students must apply through ParentVUE.  Students may apply for more than one pathway, upon review of their application they will be notified about acceptance.  Students may only enroll in only one pathway.  Students from any of the schools within the region may apply for any of our five pathways.  The application process opens in October of a student's eighth grade year with applications being due in early November. 

The Center for Medical Exploration and Discovery

The Center for Medical Exploration and Discovery includes two pathways of study:  

The Medical Science with Biotechnology Pathway

The Medical Science with Biotechnology pathway is intended for students who wish to enter the field of medical science and plan to continue their education at the college or university level.  The application for this pathway is criterion-based so students from the Central North Region will be selected based on their demonstrated excellence in middle school.

The application process will include students meeting certain criteria for acceptance.  The criteria may include:

  • Previous grades: an applicant’s academic performance in middle school
  • Coursework: the rigor of the type of classes the applicant completed in middle school
  • Test scores: standardized test records when applicable
  • Written statements: personal responses or essays submitted as part of the application

Clinical Healthcare: Medical Assistant (CCMA) Pathway

Clinical Healthcare: Medical Assistant (CCMA) pathway is intended for students interested in becoming Medical Assistants.  Students who successfully complete this program of study will earn a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) credential, which certifies the holder for clinical and administrative healthcare positions.  Students who choose this pathway may continue their education at the college or university level, go directly into the workforce, or both.

The application process is open to all students who are interested in the pathway who complete the application.  A lottery system will determine admission to the program.

The Center for Aesthetics, Repertoire, Technique and Self-Expression (A.R.T.S.)

The Center for Aesthetics, Repertoire, Technique and Self-Expression (A.R.T.S.) includes three pathways for students interested in visual or performing arts. 

Music Pathway

The Music Pathway is intended for students who wish to enter the field of music after high school or continue their education in music at the college or university level.  Students study musicianship, music theory, general music and participate in music ensembles.  Students will complete a capstone project in music during their senior year. The application for this pathway is criterion-based, so students from the Central North Region will be selected based on their demonstrated excellence in music during middle school.

The application process will include students meeting certain criteria for acceptance.  The criteria may include:

  • Previous grades: an applicant’s academic performance in middle school
  • Coursework: the rigor of the type of classes the applicant completed in middle school
  • Test scores: standardized test records when applicable
  • Written statements: personal responses or essays submitted as part of the application
  • Artistic Assessments: an audition or portfolio

Visual Arts Pathway

The Visual Arts Pathway is intended for students who wish to enter the field of visual art after high school or continue their education in art at the college or university level.  Students may study drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, digital art, multi-media art and 3-D art.  Students will complete a capstone project in visual art during their senior year. The application for this pathway is criterion-based, so students from the Central North Region will be selected based on their demonstrated excellence in art during middle school.

The application process will include students meeting certain criteria for acceptance.  The criteria may include:

  • Previous grades: an applicant’s academic performance in middle school
  • Coursework: the rigor of the type of classes the applicant completed in middle school
  • Test scores: standardized test records when applicable

  • Artistic Assessments: a portfolio

Theater Pathway

The Theater Pathway is intended for students who wish to enter the field of theater, including production, management, acting, directing, marketing and stage design after high school or continue their education in art at the college or university level. 

The application process is open to all students who are interested in the pathway who complete the application.  A lottery system will determine admission to the program.
