Student taking the MD Seal of Biliteracy Avant Stamp 4S test on Monday, January 14th should report to the media center at 7:35am prepared to start the assessment. Please remember to bring a bagged lunch. If we have a weather related delay on Monday the test will begin at 9:45am. If you test beyond 2:30pm you will need to take the late bus or arrange your own transportation home. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Hicks.

High school students are encouraged to participate in the 2019 Junior Achievement Essay Competition. Students have until Feb. 15, 2019 to submit an application and a 1,000-1,500 word essay.
This year’s topic is: “What would make your high school experience more relevant to your future?” The grand prize winner will receive a $20,000 award; first, second and third place winners will each receive $10,000. To learn more visit https://www.myja.org/essay
The League of Educators for Asian American Progress of Montgomery County Public Schools is offering a $2,000 scholarships to graduating MCPS high school seniors who plan to major in the field of education. Eligible applicants must be student members of an Asian American club and/or students who have earned Student Service Learning (SSL) hours supporting Asian American organizations or programs. Please see Ms. DeOto in room 10 by January 24, 2019 for an application.

The Poolesville Pulse school newspaper is looking for writers, graphic designers, and photographers to join the journalism class!
Journalism will be offered 2nd semester during 2nd period or students can join the class next year by circling journalism under English electives on their registration cards.
No prior experience with journalism is needed.

Girls Can Code, Too! will be meeting next Monday, on January 14, 2019, during lunch in room 13. If you want to learn about programming, cyber-security, and other computer science concepts, or if you want information on upcoming competitions, this is the place for you. Everyone is welcome, beginners and experts alike. Hope to see you there!

Congratulations to the Girls for their victory over Blake on Wed.
Varsity basketball takes on Gaithersburg tonight. Both games are away; Boys tip at 5:30 and Girls follow at 7:15

Wrestling participates in the Dorsey Duels this weekend. There will be matches both Friday and Saturday, so stop by.

The state champion swim team takes on Northwest tomorrow at the Kennedy Shriver Aquatic Center starting at 9:15 am

Indoor Track has a meet at the PG sportsplex tomorrow beginning at 8:00 am
