  • Plastic Recycling Contest - Collecting for Next Year!

    We are collecting clean plastic and plastic film to try to win a recycling contest.  Every week the plastic gets weighed and taken to be recycled.  For more details see the Trex Flier or the OT Flier

  • Do You Have a Child Starting Kindergarten Next Year?

    Come to an informational Open House for parents to learn about our school and the registration process.  Open House sessions will be held from 9:30 am - 11:30 am on the following dates: February 27th, March 6th, March 20th, March 27th, and April 3rd.  You must call the office at 240-740-4880 to make an appointment as space is limited.  These meetings are for adults only.

  • 2017 Individual School Progress Report

    The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) has posted the results of the 2017 Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC), and the High School Assessments on the Maryland Report Card (www.mdreportcard.org) website.  Click here to view Oakland Terrace Elementary School's 2017 School Progress Report located under the “Reports” tab. The report provides state, county, and individual school performance data, as well as information on student attendance, high school graduation rates, and the professional qualifications of teachers at the state, district, and school levels for the 2016‒2017 school year.  If you would like to receive the report in Chinese, French, Korean, Spanish, or Vietnamese, please contact the Main Office at 301-929-2161.      

  • Homework Help at the Kensington Park LIbrary

    Skilled volunteers help students with their homework on a drop-in basis at Kensington Park Library. For grades K-5.  October - May on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM. Next event is Thursday, December 13.   • Gaithersburg Book Festival May 18th!

    The Gaithersburg Book Festival is an annual all-day celebration of books, writers and literary excellence. One of the premier literary events in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, the 2019 Festival is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, on the grounds of Gaithersburg City Hall, in Olde Towne Gaithersburg, Md. Activities will include author appearances, discussions and book signings; writing workshops; a Children’s Village; onsite sales of new and used books; literary exhibitors and food, drink, ice cream and more. FREE admission and accessible shuttle will be available from Shady Grove Metro and Lakeforest Mall. The Gaithersburg Book Festival also hosts author events in Montgomery County throughout the year as a way to encourage continued appreciation for all things literary.
