AfterProm Volunteers Needed

AFTERPROM PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Cost for AfterProm:
All eligible Seniors - FREE
Juniors and all partners - $10.00
(This includes an endless night of FUN! Bowling, pool tables, video games, henna tattoo, photo booth, spray tattoo,and lots of prizes) 

IHOP- COLLEGE PARK TO FOLLOW BUT ALL STUDENTS MUST BE PRESENT UNTIL THE END TO BE ELIGIBLE TO ATTEND THIS BREAKFAST (Tickets will be given at the end as students exit. THIS IS FREE FOR STUDENTS.) TRANSPORT WILL BE PROVIDED FROM TERPZONE TO IHOP TO SCHOOL. 

We entertain around 180 students; our goal for this year is more so many adults are needed to help make this event a success. We will have a short training the week before for those new to AfterProm. We strongly encourage Freshman and Sophomore parents to volunteer so that Junior and Senior parents can offer their students some independence for the night. Northwood Education Foundation Scholarship

Class of 2019 - Seniors are invited to apply for a $500 Northwood Education Foundation Scholarship. Please send your completed application to nwhsef@gmail.com or mail to Northwood High School, Attention: Business Office. Application deadline is April 30, 2019.


Class of 2019 Legacy Scholarship

The Northwood Gladiator Alumni organization has established a scholarship for two students, one male and one female, in the current graduating class. Community service is essential to building a student’s character, and this scholarship will be awarded to two students who have demonstrated that community service and giving back to the community are important to them. Each student will receive $1,000. Graduating seniors who meet the criteria indicated in the application are invited to apply. Awarded funds will be paid directly to the applicant’s school of choice. Deadline is April 30, 2019. Download the application.


Isaiah Aronoff Memorial Scholarship

This special tribute is awarded annually in the amount of $500 to one graduating senior at Northwood High School. Please contact Mr. Alix Medor at Alix_Medor@mcpsmd.org for additional information. Deadline is April 30, 2019. Download the application.

National Honor Society Information

The Northwood Chapter of the National Honor Society will begin the application process after the third marking period ends on April 3, 2019. Invitations to apply will be delivered to students by April 12, 2019. An informational meeting will be held in room A215 during lunch on Tuesday, April 16, 2019. Applications will be due on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. Announcements will be made by Wednesday, May 8, 2019. The  Induction Ceremony will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 7:00 p.m.

Criteria for invitation to apply are as follows: 

  • Second semester sophomore or junior 
  • At least 3.5 GPA Unweighted or 4.0 GPA Weighted 
  • At least 45 community service hours for sophomores 
  • At least 70 community service hours for juniors
