Summer Assignments

Summer assignments for the 2019 - 2020 school year are due when students return for classes in September. View summer assignments for English, mathematics, science, social studies, and art. If you have a question about summer work, contact either the teacher listed on the assignment or the department resource teacher by email.

View and Purchase Graduation Images

Students may purchase graduation images on www.events.lifetouch.com. They only need to enter (in the search engine) the program type (graduations), their state, and school name. If the images are not loaded yet, they have the availability to enter their email address and they will be notified once the images have loaded. Panoramic Portraits: Families can mail their orders to 1017 Wilso Drive, Baltimore, MD 21223 or call into customer service at 1-800-445-1189. Lifetouch can mail the prints to their home. NHS Summer Sports Clinic

The dates for the clinic are July 17 – 18. Students/parents should call 240-777-4601 for an appointment. Students must have the MCPS required documentation, including a Wellness Center Clinic enrollment packet (if students are not already members). No student will be seen without the necessary (and parent signed) forms. Download the event flyer.  

Sneak Peek at Ninth Grade

Incoming ninth graders: Come join us for a Sneak Peek into 9th grade! Download the event flyer, register and join us on August 6, August 8, or August 9 from 8:30 am – 11:00 am. You must sign up. Transportation is NOT provided; students must provide their own.

College and Career Readiness Summer Speaker Series and Workshops

The Northwood School Counseling team has an engaging summer program planned for students to assist them in their post-secondary planning. The School Counseling Department presents our first “College and Career Readiness Summer Speaker Series”. The information shared during the speaker series will provide Northwood HS students opportunities to increase their preparation for post-secondary life. Northwood school counselors will facilitate these sessions and includes guest speakers with expertise regarding college access and career readiness. The speaker series occurs every Tuesday throughout the summer, from 2-3pm in the Media Center. Space is limited. Please reach out to your child’s school counselor with any questions. Class of 2020 Post-Secondary Planning Meeting

Students and families, please see the attached power point for information presented to rising seniors on June 3, 2019 during their English class. Please reach out to your child’s professional school counselor with any follow up questions. Rising Seniors, please remember to schedule your Graduation Conference Meeting with your school counselor for some time during the summer break.

Summer School Information Update

June 21, 2019, was the last day to register for Session 1 by 12:00 noon at school (MCPS students). Regional Summer School Office will be accepting payments on the following dates (space-available basis only- call if you have any questions 240-740-5702) no checks or credit cards, cash only.
