College Career High School Visits:

Students are able to meet with representatives from colleges, vocational schools, the military, and various career fields at their high school location.  Visits are usually held in the College Career Information Center (Room 126) during the school day.  Students with a valid Naviance | Student account are able to register to attend visits and print their visit pass once logged into Naviance.  A printed 'View Details' page is the visit pass.  Passes signed by staff are required.  Visit schedules run daily on JAG TV, are viewable in the Naviance | Student account and on our event Google Calendar.  Find out more...

New Scholarship Post The Maryland General Assembly Page Program for High School Seniors is now accepting applications!  Apply by October 25; 5:00 PMApplicants must be at least 16 years of age and a member of their senior class.  Online application (including MCPS Supplemental Application) required.  Applicant must have or obtain a social security number and have an interest in government or history.  Applicant must have a record of good conduct and be competent, courteous, and reliable with an average or above average scholastic record.  For additional information and to apply, please link to the MCPS Student Leadership web page. The deadline for Application Part 1 & 2 is October 25; 5:00 pm.  Questions should be directed to Shella Cherry. | web post 10 September 2019 |

New Scholarship Post The JA Company Program is an intensive program that offers high schoolers the chance to put their ideas into action by launching and operating a startup with other students under the guidance of business professionals.  The program is open to students in grades 9 through 12 and meets on Tuesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 beginning the week of September 16 through April 20.  The program location will be JA Finance Montgomery County, located within Thomas Edison High School for Technology.  Cost:  $50; financial assistance available.  The deadline for registration is September 14. Montgomery College Information:

 NWHS Jaguar Paw  High school seniors applying to Montgomery College are encouraged to apply during the 'Application Fee Waiver' season.  October 1 through April 15.  Seniors who would like to participate in the Accuplacer testing program with Northwest should be aware that it takes approximately 10 days for Montgomery College to generate the admission letters (mailed to the home) with the MC ID number required to take the Accuplacer.

 Student planning to transfer to a 4-year post-secondary institution after MC are encouraged to use ARTSYS as part of their college planning.  ARTSYS is the State of Maryland Articulation Information website.  ARTSYS shows which MC courses are recommended for transferring to specific Maryland colleges and universities.
