Kingsview Fest and upcoming events

UPCOMING EVENTS 2024-2025

Please mark your calendars for the following upcoming events:

Our annual Kingsview Fest will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Kingsview Middle School.  This will be an open house-style orientation event to allow you and your family to receive a basic overview about what to expect at Kingsview Middle School and tour the school. 

You can stay for as long as you would like!   We encourage parents who are new to the Kingsview Middle School community to participate in this event.  In the weeks to come, we will send more details about what will be happening during Kingsview Fest.  Please see the attached flyer.

The Northwest Cluster Back-to-School Fair will be on Saturday, August 17, 2024, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Northwest High School.  Please see the attached flyer.

Our annual New Student Orientation Day will be Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 8:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Incoming 6th grade students, as well as 7th and 8th grade students who are new to the Kingsview MS building, are encouraged to participate to learn about the school and to ensure a smooth transition on the first day. 

  • This is NOT a drop-in event. All students who participate will be expected to remain in school for the entire orientation. 
  • MCPS buses will be running on a modified half-day schedule. This is only available for those students who are eligible to ride the MCPS bus on a regular basis.  Bus Routes will be forthcoming.
  • Parents can drop off their child no earlier than 8:00 a.m. and pick up their child no later than 12:15 p.m.
  • Students will receive and follow their new class schedule in their homeroom, which will be posted.

The annual MCPS Back-to-School Fair will be on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Westfield Wheaton.  Please see the attached flyer.

The FIRST day of school will be Monday, August 26, 2024.

  • Classes start at 8:15 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.
  • Students should be dropped off no earlier than 7:50 a.m. and no later than 8:05 a.m.
  • Students should be picked up by 3:15 p.m.
  • Staff members are not available before 7:50 a.m. and after 3:15 p.m. to supervise students.
  • Lockers may not be distributed on the first day. Students will need to carry around whatever they bring on the first day – a drawstring backpack is recommended. 

Our annual Back-to-School Night will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.

  • After-School Activities Fair (for all grades)
  • Health Education Information Fair (for 7th and 8th grades)
  • Classroom Visits (for all grades)
