Holiday Giving Project and SOS program

Holiday Giving Project- The Montgomery County Holiday Giving Project is underway. If your family needs assistance during this holiday season, Thanksgiving, and December holidays, please complete the attached referral form and send it back to the school with your student to the counseling office. You can also email it to our Parent Community Coordinator, Ms. Laurene Thomas (laurene s_thomas@mcpsmd.org),  or to Ms. Lucia Monroy, registrar/counseling secretary (lucia_i_monroy@mcpsmd.org). The deadline is Friday, October 20thPlease note: There is only one referral permitted per family. Please include all children attending other MCPS schools. Assistance is based on the county's available resources and is not guaranteed. After referrals are submitted, you will be contacted directly by the organization coordinating distribution. It is the family's responsibility to pick up items at the designated time and location.

If your family is able to help others during this holiday season and would like to partner with us, please reach out to our counselors or Parent Community Coordinator to coordinate how you may help. Some examples may be donating gift cards of any amount to local stores or groceries, books, games, or non-perishable food items.

SGA Kids Helping Kids Food Drive: October 16 – 20, 2023 – Last year the SGA and students of Kingsview collected over 300 food items to donate to Manna Foods to help those in our community who are in need of food.  Our goal this year is 500 items.  Together we can reach our goal and help fight hunger! Bring in canned food items:  corn, beans, tomato sauce, and peanut butter. Boxes of rice, mashed potatoes and cereal.  Do not forget to bring spaghetti, pasta, tuna fish, canned vegetables, mac and cheese, and other non-perishable foods.  SGA will be collecting food items by grade level beginning Monday, October 16 through Friday, October 20th.

There will be two large bins in the main hallway for 7th and 8th grade; and one near the 6th grade entrance for 6th grade.  Let’s see which grade level will bring the most items over 100.  Each can or box counts as one item.  Packages sold together in stores (like 6 packs of oodles or noodles) will be counted as one item. Let the competition begin!
