Back To School Parent Mailing 8.16.22

Dear Kingsview Families:

This is a friendly reminder that the Northwest Cluster Back-to-School Fair will be on Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 10:00 am -1:00 pm at Northwest High School.  We hope to see you there! 

Our annual New Student Orientation will be Thursday, August 25th from 8:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  This is NOT a drop-in event.  All students who participate will be expected to remain in school for the entire orientation. Incoming 6th grade students, as well as 7th and 8th grade students new to the Kingsview MS building, are encouraged to participate to learn about the school and to ensure a smooth transition on the first day.   MCPS busses will be running on a modified half-day schedule.  This is only available for those students who are eligible to ride the MCPS bus on a regular basis.  Parents can drop off their child no earlier than 8:00 a.m.  and pick up their child no later than 12:15 p.m.

We are also offering a New Parent Orientation for incoming 6th grade parents, as well as 7th and 8th grade parents new to the Kingsview MS building on Thursday, August 25th from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The orientation will provide a basic overview about what to expect in middle school. 

The FIRST day of school will be Monday, August 29, 2022.  Classes start at 8:15 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. 

  • Students should be dropped off no earlier than 7:50 a.m. and no later than 8:05 a.m. 
  • Students should be picked up by 3:15 p.m.   

Over the next several weeks, you will be receiving LOTS of information regarding the opening of school.  Please check your email regularly.  Please see the attached parent mailing for more information. 

In an effort to save paper, we will not be sending a summer mailing.  All items below will be available on the Kingsview website at http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/schools/kingsviewms.
