Welcome - Dr. Kang - Principal Intern
Hello to the Gaithersburg Elementary School community! My name is Augustine Kang, and I am thrilled to be joining Gaithersburg Elementary as a principal intern for the 2024-2025 school year. I am a very proud product of Montgomery County Public Schools and graduated from Winston Churchill High School. I completed my undergraduate degree in Biology, Masters degree in Education, and Doctor in Philosophy in Education Policy, Planning, and Leadership, all from The College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. I am fortunate to have had a broad range of experiences as a science teacher, starting my teaching career at Shady Grove Middle School, working as a Content Specialist at Montgomery Village Middle School, and also as a Content Specialist right next door at Gaithersburg Middle School. I loved my experiences with the students, staff, and community here in Gaithersburg, and am looking forward to reconnecting with some and getting to know many of you. I have worked as an Assistant Principal at Silver Spring International Middle School, and most recently, Earle B. Wood Middle School in Rockville. I am a firm believer that effective effort leads to success and that every student can achieve their own successes with support and guidance. I value communication and relationships and want all students and community members to know that they can always reach out if they have questions or are in need. When I’m not in school, I enjoy spending time with my wife and four boys, staying active, listening to country music, and exploring all sorts of different foods! Thank you for welcoming me into your community and I look forward to meeting and working with you all at community events this spring and summer!

¡Hola a la comunidad de la Escuela Primaria Gaithersburg! Mi nombre es Augustine Kang y estoy encantado de unirme a la escuela primaria Gaithersburg como director en prácticas para el año escolar 2024-2025. Soy un producto muy orgulloso de las Escuelas Públicas del Condado de Montgomery y me gradué de la Escuela Secundaria Winston Churchill.
