CHS Field Hockey Clinic: Attention all ladies: The CHS Field Hockey team will be hosting a FREE field hockey clinic here at Rocky Hill on Wednesday, May 9 & Thursday, May 10 to anyone interested in learning more about the sport. See Ms. Brouillard or Tippett today for a flyer & permission slip!!

Third Quarter Honor Roll: Did you know that over 550 Rocky Hill students achieved Honor Roll status last quarter? To celebrate your accomplishment, Rocky Hill has sent an honor roll e-certificate to your MCPS Gmail account, which you can view, save or print out at home simply by logging into your MCPS Gmail account. If you achieved Honor Roll status but did not receive a certificate, please go see Ms. Gramatges in the library. Congratulations and keep up the good work!

Summer School: Need extra help in math or reading? Want to preview the IM or Algebra objectives? Come to summer school! Rocky Hill Middle School Local School Program – Summer School 2018- Enrollment Opens Monday, April 16, 2018. Enrollment forms available on the RHMS website.

Green Team: The Green Team will have their last meeting Tuesday May 1. We will be recycling and completing our SSL hours. All members of the Green Team are required to attend in order to complete your SSL forms.

Science Club: The Science Club will have their last meeting Thursday May 3. We will be completing our SSL hours. All members of the Science CLub are required to attend in order to complete your SSL forms.

MC Open for Lunch: The media center is open for tech free Tuesday today! Interested? Then come SIGN OUT A PASS on your way to lunch. Grab your lunch, BRING IT UP TO THE MEDIA CENTER and play a board game with friends.

Boys' Soccer: The Boys Soccer Team take on the Neelsville Knights today after school. Activity buses are available so come out and cheer them on! Students planning to stay should come straight up to the soccer fields at dismissal. Good luck Boys!

Archery Team: Congratulations to the Archery team. They placed third, on Saturday, at the Admiral's Cup tournament in Severna Park. They competed against teams from three states. Nick Fantle was our high scorer followed by Alyssa Bass and Josh Dixon.

SGA: Thank-you to everyone who participated in the Rocky Hill SGA election and with SMOB voting. Congratulations to Jacob Felman who will be the SGA President and Mackenzie Smith who will be the Vice President.

MC Open for Lunch: The media center will be open for Mystery Monday TODAY! Interested? Then come SIGN OUT A PASS on your way to lunch. Grab your lunch, BRING IT UP TO THE MEDIA CENTER- Learn about the book fair books and win a prize or two.

Scholastic Book Fair: A big thank you to everyone who support our Spring Book Fair! We raised over $300.00 for All for Books, which means that Scholastic will buy over $600 worth of books for people who cannot afford to buy them. The winners of the book baskets are Nia Richard and Lucien Lee. Nia and Richard, come on down to the media center to claim your baskets!

Yearbook Sales: We are now offering yearbooks for $30 (delivered in June) while supplies last. Credit card orders will be accepted through the ON LINE SCHOOL PAYMENTS. Cash and check payments can be turned into the main office. Contact the yearbook coordinator, Lisabeth Belman (Lisabeth_S_Belman@mcpsmd.org) with any questions or concerns.

SMOB Voting: Student member the Board voting will take place on Friday morning in the Media Center. Students will leave class according to their homeroom. Posters around the school and in classrooms indicate the time for you to come to the media center for voting. Please see Mr. Conley with any questions.

Earth Week: Good Morning Rocky Hill Earthlings!! Happy Earth Week! It is Earth Colors Day. We should see lots of green, blue and white around!! Clean up Rocky Hill by picking up trash!! Earth Day is Sunday... practice what you have learned. Remember... earn a gold straw to get a candy bar!!

SGA: Today we will also be voting for our Student Government President. Only 6th and 7th graders will use a paper ballot to vote for candidates Jacob Felman and Mackenzie Smith. This will also take place in the media center.

Scholastic Book Fair Winners: Congratulations to all Book Fair Winners! Ambar Melo won the gummy bear jar, Luke Hall won the bunny tales Jar, Evelyn Jiang won the Swedish fish jar, Elijah Gonzalez won the dog bones jar and Kaula Yeboah won the goldfish jar. Come claim your prize in the media center! Thanks to all who supported our book fair!

Take Your Child to Work Day: If you plan to go to work with your parent or guardian on Thursday, April 26, be sure to turn in the permission slip. Permission slips are in the office. You can get one at lunch.

Scholastic Book Fair: Tomorrow is the last day the book fair will be here. Don’t miss this opportunity to stock up on some fresh summer reads. The book fair will be open tomorrow morning from 7:30 am until 9:30 am. See you there!

Earth Week: Good Morning Rocky Hill Earthlings!! Happy Earth Week! It is Water Ways Day!! We are going to conserve water by using "gray" water. Take any left over water from bottles and put them into designated orange buckets around the school. Remember... earn a gold straw to get a candy bar!!

Bikes for the World: Put your old bike to good use by donating it to Bikes for the World! Changing the world, one bike at a time. Rocky Hill is collecting used Bikes for “Bikes for the World” on Saturday, April 21st from 1-4 pm in front of the school.

Earth Week: Hello All Earthlings of Rocky Hill Middle School! Today is the first day of EARTH WEEK! It is Paperless Monday!! What can we all do to cut down on our use of paper?! Ideas: Students can use a half a sheet of paper and share the other half with a friend. Teachers can use white boards or note cards for answers... or utilize our Chromebooks!! Happy Earth Week!! Tomorrow we will practice plastic awareness! Try to avoid using plastic items… we will be collecting our plastics at lunches to see how much we use. Wednesday we will “power-down” as we turn off lights to rooms that are not occupied and teachers and staff will be encouraged to use half the lighting in their rooms. Thursday we will practice ways to conserve water by using “gray” water in different ways. Rather than dumping unused water into a sink… why not water a plant… Or fill a fish tank… give water to a pet? Friday we will celebrate Earth Day by dressing up in Earth colors and cleaning up the school grounds! 6th Grade colors: green, 7th Grade colors: Blue and 8th Grade colors: White. During Earth Week Mother & “Man”ther Earth will be stopping by lunches to recognize those students who show the most PRIDE in caring for their environment. Cleaning up after themselves and others, helping out, showing kindness… Big Prizes can be won!!
