Intramurals and Athletics Calendar 2017-2018
A little about Intramurals…Intramurals are an extension of our Physical Education program and are open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders at Rocky Hill Middle School. Days and times of intramurals are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays from 3:00-4:30. Students can ride the activity bus home or may be picked up by a parent/guardian. There is NO cost to participate in the activities offered. Such activities include field hockey, basketball, archery, dodgeball, street hockey, badminton, tennis, flag football, and indoor soccer, just to name a few. These activities will be occurring at different times throughout the year. Times and dates will be announced on the morning announcements and the school web site.
Any student wishing to participate in the Intramural Program MUST have an INTRAMURAL PERMISSION SLIP on file with Ms. Brouillard. Permission slips are available using the link above, or can be picked up in both locker rooms, and the main office. STUDENTS ONLY NEED TO TURN IN ONE PERMISSION SLIP IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY INTRAMURAL THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE YEAR!!! YOU DO NOT NEED TO TURN IN A NEW PERMISSION SLIP FOR EACH INTRAMURAL! If a permission slip has not been turned in, the student MAY NOT participate until one is turned in.

Attention all 7th & 8th grade basketball players…
Basketball tryouts are quickly approaching!! If you are planning to try out, you must have the necessary paperwork turned in to Ms. Brouillard MONDAY, November 27th!! Here are 3 things you need in order to try out: 1) be academically eligible with a minimum of a 2.0 GPA for Quarter 1; 2) a CURRENT physical form signed and dated by the doctor; and 3) a signed parent permission slip. The physical forms and permission slips can be found on the school website under “Activities” or you can pick them up from the Girls Locker Room. It’s never too soon to get that paperwork in, so see Ms. Brouillard today!! Tryouts will be held for the girls on Tuesday, November 28th, Thursday, November 30th, and Tuesday, December 5th. Boys tryouts will be held Wednesday, November 29th, Thursday, November 30th, and Tuesday, December 1st.
7th & 8th Grade ATHLETES SHOULD PLAN ON ATTENDING ALL 3 DAYS OF TRYOUTS!!!
In order to try-out, all athletes MUST have the following paperwork on file PRIOR to try-outs: a CURRENT physical signed & dated by the child's physician within the last 2 years needs to be turned in or on file in the Health Room, and a parent permission slip. NO STUDENT WILL BE PERMITTED TO TRY-OUT IF THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PROPER PAPERWORK into Ms. Brouillard! THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS due to county policy.
Students can pick up the needed forms from Ms. Brouillard, the school nurse, or forms can be downloaded from the Rocky Hill website, found under the "Afterschool" tab.
Tryouts will be held each day after school until 4:30. Activity Busses will be available to students to ride home after try-outs, as well as after each practice, if parents are unable to provide transportation. - 8th grade only on 3/6
