College Career High School Visits:

Students are able to meet with representatives from colleges, vocational schools, the military, and various career fields at their high school location.  Visits are usually held in the College Career Information Center (Room 126) during the school day.  Students with a valid Family Connection account are able to sign up to attend visits through their Family Connection account.  Passes are required and students should follow the instructions during the visit sign up to print their pass.  Staff signatures are required.  Visit schedules run daily on JAG TV, Family Connection and our event Google Calendar.  Find out more...

New Scholarship Post Historically Black College & Universities 10th Annual College Fair Announced!  Friday, February 9, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm at Einstein High School (11135 Newport Mill Road, Kensington MD). High School Students (Grades 9-12) & Parents are Encouraged to Attend! On-site admission interviews offered to MCPS seniors from 4 to 7:30 pm.  Registration required for on-site admission interviews.  Register online and in the high school College Career Information Center.  Meet with college representatives and learn about scholarship opportunities.  HBCU's accept students from all nationalities.  Remember to REGISTER!  For additional information, including the link for registration, visit seniors must register by January 31.  | web post 15 Dec 17 |

New Scholarship Post 16th Annual Alfred Street Baptist Church HBCU College Festival Announced!  Saturday, February 10.  Doors open at 8 am.  Gaylord National Convention Center (201 Waterfront Street, Oxon Hill, MD 20745).  Over 70 colleges and universities will be represented along with other organizations.  Some schools will be offering instant admission decisions, conduct on-site interviews and waive application fees.  Seminars will be offered for students and parents.  Band auditions offered for select schools!  The HBCU College Festival is FREE but everyone must register.  Click here for a link to the event site and registration.  | web post 28 Nov 17 |

Montgomery College Information:

Reminder Notice Image High school seniors applying to Montgomery College are encouraged to apply during the 'Application Fee Waiver' season that begins on October 1 and continues until April 15.  Seniors who would like to participate in the Accuplacer testing program with Northwest should be aware that it takes approximately 10 days for Montgomery College to generate the admission letters (mailed to the home) with the MC ID number required to take the Accuplacer.  | updated 28 Sept 17 |

Student planning to transfer to a 4-year post-secondary institution after MC are encouraged to use ARTSYS as part of their college planning.  ARTSYS is the State of Maryland Articulation Information website.  ARTSYS shows which MC courses are recommended for transferring to specific Maryland colleges and universities.

Montgomery College (MC), supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) has announced the Graduate and Transfer Science, Technology, Engineering & Math Talent Expansion Program (GT STEP).  The program is designed to assist students who are majoring in STEM fields (biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, engineering, or math) in acquiring their AA degree and/or facilitating their transfer to a 4-year college or university.  Program details and application can be found here.
