Students are able to meet with representatives from colleges, vocational schools, the military, and various career fields at their high school location. Visits are usually held in the College Career Information Center (Room 126) during the school day. Students with a valid Family Connection account are able to sign up to attend visits through their Family Connection account. Passes are required and students should follow the instructions during the visit sign up to print their pass. Staff signatures are required. McDaniel College offers Admissions 101 Summer Workshop. July 23. A program designed to help students create their strongest college application before they actually begin to submit applications to any colleges! Included in the workshop will be a review of the college essay, resume writing, college search and financial aid. Students who attend this event will have their $50 application fee waived and will qualify to receive the McDaniel College Visit Incentive Grant (a $4,000 value over four years). TranZed Academy for Working Students (TAWS)! The TranZed Academy is a new program for next year's high school seniors. MCPS is implementing an apprenticeship program with 60 slots available. High school seniors applying to Montgomery College are encouraged to apply during the 'Application Fee Waiver' season. Dates for the 2018-2019 application period TBD. Seniors who would like to participate in the Accuplacer testing program with Northwest should be aware that it takes approximately 10 days for Montgomery College to generate the admission letters (mailed to the home) with the MC ID number required to take the Accuplacer. | updated 25 June 18 |

Student planning to transfer to a 4-year post-secondary institution after MC are encouraged to use ARTSYS as part of their college planning. ARTSYS is the State of Maryland Articulation Information website. ARTSYS shows which MC courses are recommended for transferring to specific Maryland colleges and universities.

Montgomery College (MC), supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) has announced the Graduate and Transfer Science, Technology, Engineering & Math Talent Expansion Program (GT STEP). The program is designed to assist students who are majoring in STEM fields (biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, engineering, or math) in acquiring their AA degree and/or facilitating their transfer to a 4-year college or university.
