The Maryland Youth Advisory Council was established in order to ensure that Maryland youth are given the opportunity to provide feedback and recommendations regarding public policies and program that affect their future. All youth members must be 14-22 years of age and serve a one year term. If you think you would like to be a voice for youth in Maryland, click here to download and complete the application. The American Line Builders Apprenticeship and Training Committee accepts applications for apprentice programs including outside lineman, substation technician, cable splicer technican, traffic signal technican, underground residential distribution technician, and transmission technician on a continuing basis. Pay rates are based on percentage of the journeyman rate in the area worked and the classification the apprentice has achieved. Interested persons may obtain an application online at www.albat.org. Centers house extensive testing and financial aid information and assistance into researching careers and colleges. Information is available in various forms including books, CD's and computer on-line and software programs.

High School College Visits:
Students are able to meet with representatives from colleges, vocational schools, the military, and various career fields. Juniors and seniors sign up for these visits in the College/Career Information Center before school, during lunch or after school and must have teacher permission to attend. The visit schedule runs daily on JAG TV and is also available to juniors & seniors registered with Family Connection.
