Blake’s Internship Program is designed to give Seniors an opportunity to complement their formal education with career-related experience. In order to compete in today’s professional environment, the program helps prepare you to work effectively in the business world after graduation while gaining real-world experience which helps you to make more informed career choices which will lead to higher personal job satisfaction and higher productivity.
BHSIs typically work a minimum of 8 hours per week, or 150 hours per semester of credit, on an approved internship throughout a full academic semester in a strongly mentored, non-paid position, and attend regularly scheduled in-school seminars on Fridays. Interns are matched based on their career aspirations, with sponsors in a variety of fields which are shown on the enclosed Application. As a BHSI you must be able to complete required graduation credits while leaving school on an early dismissal schedule. Interns must also provide their own transportation to and from their internship. You are also responsible for attending all seminars, completing course assignments and projects, and preparing weekly and monthly record keeping reports.
Students wishing to enroll in the Internship Program should immediately fully complete the attached Application, secure parental/guardian permission and speak with their Guidance Counselor for scheduling approval.
