If you class did not get the newspaper, please send a representative to D253 at this time… (CS: STAGE COMPANY) The Stage Company presents Shakespeare’s comedy, The Taming of the Shrew, today and tomorrow at 7:30pm in the Auditorium. Tickets are on sale at the door… (CS: COSTA RICA) Time is running out! There is only one month left to sign up for the Costa Rica trip during Spring Break. See Ms. Garlick in B223 with questions… (CLASSNOTES) (CS: SENIORS) Seniors, Jostens will be here today to collect the cap and gown order forms and money at lunch in front of the cafeteria… Fri - Last Names N - Z (CS: CAREER CENTER) Hampton University will offer on-the-spot admissions interviews on November 23 from 6-8pm at Rockville High School. Check announcenet for admission requirements. The $35 application fee will be waived for those who sign up in advance with Mrs. Moore in the Career Center… (CS: ROTC) On Monday, a Navy rep will be here to speak with seniors about ROTC scholarships. Please see Announcenet for admissions details, or inquire at the Navy display table during lunch… Trinity University, a women’s college in DC, will offer on-the-spot admissions interviews on Thursday from 6-9pm at Wheaton High School. Check announcenet for details on admission… Preparing for Success, a free program for young women, will be held on Saturday from 10-4:30 at the Montgomery College Theatre Arts Building. Free bus service will be provided from Blake at 9:30am and complimentary lunch is included. Pick up more information from Mrs. Moore in the Career Center… (SPORTS) (CS: FIELD HOCKEY) The Bengal Field Hockey team has advanced to the State Championships, facing Hereford High School at Washington College tomorrow at 6:30pm. Information on the game, including directions and ticket prices, can be seen on Announcenet… (CS: TRACK) Indoor track will hold their first practice tomorrow at 9am on the track. Please make sure you bring all your paper work… (CS: GIRLS VARSITY SOCCER) Girls’ Varsity soccer players, please return your uniforms to Coach Simms before the end of the day… And, that’s the news for today. (ANNOUNCENET) Congratulations to the Forensics Team for success in the recent Qualifying Meet. Results included First Place wins for Kira Williams in Children’s Literature and Freshman Jourdan Lewanda won First Place in Serious Prose. Rosie Henise finished Second in Dramatic Interp and Daniel Arias finished 4th in Prose Interp. The Ensemble Acting team of Alex Reeves and Grace Plihal won First Place in Acting for their WATERMELON BOATS. Last, but not least, Assoumou Diby and Kira Williams took Second Place in Readers Theatre. Our next meeting is Tuesday, Nov. 17th… The Stage Company presents Shakespeare’s comedy, The Taming of the Shrew, Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm in the Auditorium. The play follows the rollicking adventures of Petrucchio, a down-on-his-luck Italian soldier; of-fortune, who needs a rich wife to lead a life of partying and fun! Tickets are on sale at the door… Trinity University, a women’s college in DC, will offer on-the-spot admissions interviews on Thursday from 6-9pm at Wheaton High School. Seniors with a minimum GPA of 2.5 (scholarships for 3.0 and up) should see Mrs. Moore about the documents needed to participate. SAT scores are not required for admission to Trinity and the application fee will be waived… Varsity Girls Basketball tryouts are tomorrow from 10-12pm and 3-5pm in the main gym. JV Girls Basketball tryouts are 10-12pm in the 2nd gym and 1:30-3pm in the main gym… On Monday, a Navy rep will be here to speak with seniors about ROTC scholarships. Seniors in the top 10% of their class or minimum SAT scores of 520 in math and 530 in verbal qualify for up to full tuition & other benefits. Please inquire at the Navy display table during lunch… |
