ACADEMY OF ARTS AND COMMUNICATIONS

MISSION: The Academy of Arts and Communications prepares students for career opportunities in the performing and media arts by providing a rigorous program of skill development for diverse student artists. Through project-based study and performance, students explore meaningful ideas and build a multi-cultural and artistic community of shared experiences.

Pathways: Performing Arts (Theater, Dance, Music Education/Performance/Industry)

Visual Arts (Studio Art/Ceramics/Photography/Fashion)

Media (Video Production/Digital Arts/Journalism)

  • The Performing Arts Pathway develops performance skills and provides opportunities for creative production.

  • The Visual Arts Pathway provides fine arts skills and opportunities for creative expression through portfolio projects.

  • The Media Arts Pathway provides a wide variety of design, media, and graphic communications skills that are a foundation for employment in the graphic communications and media industries, including news production. The Pathway focuses on creative production and technical skills.

Students who complete required pathway course credits and a related capstone experience receive an Academy certificate and recognition at graduation.
