Our Athletic Director and point of contact for athletics questions is Bryan Walker (Bryan_K_Walker@mcpsmd.org). During our first year (2027 - 2028), when we only have 9th and 10th grade students we will have junior varsity teams for any sports that would traditionally have a junior varity and a varsity team and we will run varsity teams in sports that would traditionally only have a varsity team. |
Woodward's athletics program will be built based on the foundation provided by the MCPS Athletics Department, as outlined below:

Extracurricular Activities

Our point of contact for extracurricular activities is TBD. Woodward will align the development of its extracurricular activities program with the MCPS Student Engagement Mission — giving every student equitable access to a wide range of experiences, including leadership, service, and extracurricular programs, where students build core skills, form connections with peers and mentors, and enjoy themselves along the way. As we plan for our opening, we'll be working with staff and students to identify student engagement opportunities focused on our students' needs and interests. |
