Craig Staton

Principal

For the past 14 years, I have served as principal of Julius West Middle School, leading with a focus on connection, growth, and excellence. A graduate of Bucknell University and a native of North Jersey in the NYC area, I value diversity, strong relationships, and meaningful collaboration. I hold a master’s degree in school leadership and administration and am dedicated to building a welcoming school community where every student can reach their full potential. Previously in MCPS, I have served as an assistant principal, instructional specialist, social studies and computer technology teacher.

 
 

 

Shannon K. Grigsby

Assistant Principal,
6th Grade Administrator

For the past 19 years, I have served in Montgomery County Public Schools in the roles of high school English teacher, Consulting Teacher, Staff Development Teacher, and as an assistant principal. I attended Towson University where I earned a Secondary English degree and master's degree in Special Education. I am dedicated to serving my community by building relationships with students, families, and staff.

Kelly Bean

Assistant Principal,
7th Grade Administrator

For the past 22 years, I have served Montgomery County Public Schools in the roles of middle and high school math teacher, Mathematics Content Specialist, co-supervisor of Secondary Mathematics and as school-based administrator. I grew up in Montgomery County, attending Greenwood Elementary, Rosa Parks Middle and Sherwood High School. I then attended the University of Maryland – College Park, Teachers College - Columbia University, and Johns Hopkins University to obtain the degrees and certifications required for my various roles in education. My goal is to support students, their families, and staff members with getting the most out of each and every day of their schooling, helping them to reach their highest levels of achievement and success. Communication is key!

Blair Pearce

Assistant Principal,
8th Grade Administrator

For the past 12 years, I have served Montgomery County Public Schools in the roles of middle school math teacher, Resource Teacher of Special Education (RTSE) and as school-based administrator. I also served as a Special Education teacher in Harford County Public Schools for 4 years. I grew up in Auburn, NY (Upstate) and attended St. Bonaventure University and Hood College to obtain the degrees and certifications required for my various roles in education. My core values call me to lead, serve and inspire students, their families, and staff members every day.
